Lithium carbonate is an inorganic compound, chemical formula Li2CO3, molecular weight 73.89, colorless monoclinic crystal, slightly soluble in water, dilute acid, insoluble in ethanol, acetone. Carbonates with lower thermal stability than other elements of the same group in the periodic table, non-delixing in air, can be obtained by adding sodium carbonate to lithium sulfate or lithium oxide solutions.
